Live strings and electronics with film
Moving Music is a 60-minute multimedia live experience, featuring:
- A responsive video capture system by John-Marc Gowans that animates live on screen the experience of watching a performer, featuring works by Steve Reich and Terry Riley arranged and performed by Nic Pendlebury on electric viola;
- Colin Riley‘s Masts, Tunnel and Trees for string instrument and electronics, layering music with the sounds of three environments: a boat’s masts in the breeze, an echoing foot tunnel beneath the Thames and swaying trees, all captured in static-framed films by Marcus Tate.
Moving Music is a one-hour performance requiring a large screen and projector as well as a PA system. For booking enquiries please contact sonic.collaborations@gmail.com.
